• 〔Taiwan News〕Taiwan dumpling chain Bafang Yunji plans over 20 US outlets

Taiwanese restaurant chain Bafang Yunji reported record financial results and outlined plans to expand both domestically and in the US, where it aims to operate more than 20 outlets by the end of 2026. The dumpling and potsticker brand posted NT$8.79 billion (US$275 million) in revenue last year, a 9.51% increase from the previous year, while net profit reached NT$856 million and earnings per share came in at NT$12.84, per CNA.

• 〔Taiwan News〕Taiwan’s 3 science parks post record revenues amid AI boom

Rising AI demand drove Taiwan’s three science parks to a record NT$5.8 trillion (US $185 billion) in revenue last year, with Southern Taiwan Science Park recording the highest growth, according to the National Science and Technology Council. Hsinchu Science Park posted NT$1.7 trillion in revenue last year, up 12.25% from 2024; Central Taiwan Science Park recorded NT$1.13 trillion, growing 9.29%; and Southern Taiwan Science Park reached NT$2.97 trillion, rising 34.26%. The council forecasts further growth for the science parks this year, per CNA.

• 〔Focus Taiwan〕Kaohsiung-Kumamoto delegation in Arizona to talk semiconductors

Kaohsiung, March 13 (CNA) A delegation organized by the city of Kaohsiung and Japan's Kumamoto Prefecture was in Arizona on Thursday (U.S. time) to attend a semiconductor forum and highlight the importance of supply chain diversification in the fast-changing global economy. In a statement Friday, the Kaohsiung City government said Mayor Chen Chi-mai led the delegation in meeting with Sandra Watson, head of the Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA), and attending a semiconductor roundtable forum.

• 〔Taiwan Plus〕Taiwan Ranked Fifth Worldwide in Economic Freedom Index

Taiwan has ranked fifth globally in the Heritage Foundation Index of Economic Freedom. According to the index, Taiwan is the second freest economy in Asia, behind Singapore but ahead of Japan and South Korea.
