Taiwanese banquet culture took center stage at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport recently as Everrich brought a traditional Taiwanese banquet airside for the first time. The “Have a Seat: A Taste of Taiwan at the Airport,” event transformed the airport into a showcase of Taiwanese food, hospitality and culture, demonstrating how airport dining can become part of the destination experience. Minister of Transportation and Communications Chen Shih-kai, Taoyuan International Airport Corporation Chairman Chen Yen-po, and representatives from the government, tourism and cultural sectors joined the event, which combined Taiwanese cuisine with traditional performances and interactive cultural experiences.
Taiwan aims to help its businesses expand in Eswatini and explore opportunities in other African markets, Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung said Friday. Lin made the remarks as King Mswati III of Eswatini arrived in Taiwan with a delegation to attend National Day celebrations, marking his 20th visit to the country. Eswatini is the country's only diplomatic ally in Africa, according to CNA and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Taiwan Industrial Innovation Park is being developed in Eswatini to attract investment in energy, pharmaceuticals, technology, and public infrastructure, Lin said. The project also includes plans for an industrial community with business facilities and residential amenities.
〔Grocery Trade News〕NIQ Launches Taiwan Shopper Analytics for FMCG Brands
NielsenIQ launched Omnishopper Taiwan on 7 October, offering FMCG suppliers and retailers a service for tracking purchases across competing stores and channels. The service uses electronic receipts to analyse category performance, loyalty and shopper switching. An optional survey adds information about purchasing motivations, while integration with NIQ Discover connects the findings with wider market data. Its commercial value will depend on whether that wider view changes decisions at the shelf. A retailer’s own sales records show what sold inside its stores. They cannot, by themselves, explain whether a household bought the same category elsewhere or stopped buying it altogether.
Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim listed three priorities for Taiwan-US economic ties on Tuesday. Speaking at the American Chamber of Commerce in Taiwan’s 75th anniversary celebration, Hsiao said technology is reshaping global economies and societies, and supply chains are being reconfigured, per the Presidential Office. Businesses are increasingly focused on bolstering resilience, reliability, and trust, she said.
A prize program for repeat visitors to Taiwan has attracted 53,304 registrations, with travelers from Japan accounting for the largest number, the Tourism Administration said Thursday. The first drawing took place Wednesday at noon, with additional drawings to be held each week and winners notified, per CNA. The most registrations came from Japan, followed by Hong Kong and Macau, South Korea, Singapore, and the Philippines.
