TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Foxconn posted consolidated revenue of NT$837 billion (US$25.5 billion) in September, an all-time monthly high on strong demand for artificial intelligence servers. September revenue rose 38.01% from August and 14.19% year-on-year. Third-quarter revenue reached NT$2.06 trillion, up 14.47% from Q2 and 10.99% from a year earlier, setting a record for the period, per CNA.


TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Michelin Guide on Thursday announced the inaugural list of Michelin Key recipients, with four hotels in Taiwan among those honored for outstanding hospitality and design, underscoring the country’s growing international profile in luxury accommodations. The Michelin Key, introduced to recognize excellence in the global hotel industry, was awarded to 2,457 properties worldwide from more than 7,000 evaluated. Taiwan’s honorees include Capella Taipei, Kimpton Da An Taipei, Mandarin Oriental Taipei, and Hoshinoya Guguan.


Taipei, Oct. 3 (CNA) Taiwan-based ASE Technology Holding Co., the world's largest IC packaging and testing services provider, on Friday broke ground on a new plant in Kaohsiung. According to ASE Technology, the plant will expand production of advanced 3D chip on wafer on substrate (CoWoS) IC packaging services to meet strong global demand for artificial intelligence applications. In a statement, ASE Technology said it will spend NT$17.6 billion (US$579 million) to build the facility -- K18B -- and construction is scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of 2028 to create almost 2,000 new jobs.


Taipei, Oct. 8 (CNA) Taiwan's Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) said Tuesday that the opening ceremony for Taiwan Weeks 2025 will be held on Oct. 15, aiming to promote the island as a leading asset management center in Asia. The event, which will run from Oct. 15-23, will bring together securities-related organizations, academic institutions, and industry partners, featuring a weeklong series of forums, seminars, and exhibitions on financial innovation, ESG and cross-border cooperation.


Taipei, Oct. 10 (CNA) President Lai Ching-te (賴清德) said Friday that Taiwan will implement 10 new artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure initiatives to strengthen its leading position in global technology development. "In addition to helping make Taiwan one of the world's top five computing centers, we will also invest more vigorously in R&D in three key technological fields -- quantum technology, silicon photonics, and robotics," Lai said in his National Day address.
