TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Beigang Chaotian Temple “Mother Marathon” kicked off Saturday in Yunlin County’s Beigang Township, drawing more than 10,000 participants for its men’s and women’s races, per CNA. Now in its third year, the event adopted the theme “Running for Love, Running for Peace,” attracting both athletes and Mazu devotees. Many runners said they joined the race seeking blessings from the sea goddess.
〔Taiwan News〕Nvidia R&D center opens in Taipei's Nangang District
TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Capping off Jensen Huang’s (黃仁勳) visit to Taiwan this weekend, Nvidia opened the doors at its newest R&D center in Taipei’s Nangang District. The company's name was illuminated atop the Ruantex Yucheng building near Kunyang MRT Station on Saturday evening. The company signed a 10-year lease for office space from the third to the 17th floors, and will occupy 67% of the building, UDN reported.

Taipei, Nov. 4 (CNA) Taiwan ranked 10th globally in the 2025 IMD World Digital Competitiveness Ranking released Tuesday by the Switzerland-based International Institute for Management Development (IMD). The ranking assessed 69 economies on their ability to adapt to, explore, and benefit from digital transformation, based on three key factors -- knowledge, technology, and future readiness -- comprising nine subfactors and 61 indicators.
Taipei, Nov. 4 (CNA) The 2025 Taiwan Creative Content Fest (TCCF) opened in Taipei on Tuesday and saw the launch of two investment funds totaling over NT$1.5 billion (US$48.5 million), one of which involves cooperation with South Korean entertainment giant CJ ENM.
〔Taipei Times〕Taiwan aims for NT$1tn tourism industry by 2030
Taiwan aims to have a tourism industry valued at NT$1 trillion (US$32.2 billion) by 2030 and is looking to further connect the sector to other industries, President William Lai (賴清德) said yesterday during the opening of the Taipei International Travel Fair. Taiwan’s tourism sector was valued at NT$837.8 billion last year, and we hope to grow it to NT$1 trillion by 2030, Lai said. Lai cited Tainan’s Taiwan International Orchid Show and the International Mango Festival, the Nantou Global Tea Expo and the New Taipei City Sky Lantern Festival as examples of popular attractions, and said that such events, as well as other future programs, should look for ways to further improve event organization.
