This CEIAS report offers the first comprehensive, bottom-up analysis of Europe-Taiwan relations across 30 European countries. By systematically examining bilateral ties rather than treating Europe as a single actor, it provides a new empirical foundation for assessing the scope, depth, and current limits of Europe’s engagement with Taiwan.

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Belgium’s Liege Airport is pushing for closer ties with Taiwan’s air cargo sector, arguing that semiconductor trade could help support direct freight service between Taoyuan and the European hub. That message was the focus of a Taiwan-Belgium air logistics exchange held in Taiwan on Monday, where Liege Airport commercial director Alexis Lapot presented the airport’s case to airline, freight, and government representatives, per CNA.

Taipei, March 25 (CNA) Taiwan was the world's 12th largest exporter in 2025, its highest ranking in 32 years and up four spots from 2024, due to strong ongoing demand for products related to artificial intelligence, according to the Ministry of Finance (MOF). Taiwan's exports hit a new high of US$640 billion in 2025, up 34.8 percent from a year earlier and ranking it 12th among all exporters, Taiwan's best showing since 1993 when its exports ranked 11th globally, MOF data showed.

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taichung City Government said Sunday that city officials visited major innovation hubs in New Jersey on March 16 to strengthen cooperation with US partners in technology, research, and industry. The delegation first toured The Helix, a large-scale innovation park designed to bring together academic research, startup incubation, and commercial development in one location. Officials said the project demonstrates how close collaboration between universities and businesses can turn research into real-world applications.
