TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport rose to the 13th busiest in the world in 2024. The Airports Council International, ACI, released its latest report on Tuesday, ranking the world’s busiest airports based on data from over 2,800 airports across 185 countries and regions, per Liberty Times. The rankings, which analyze passenger traffic, cargo volume, and aircraft movements, found that Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport was the world’s busiest airport in 2024, with 108.1 million passengers.


TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taipei is the top city globally for US digital nomads, according to a Dublin-based international eSIM provider. On Thursday, Holafly released its list of the best cities for remote work for US passport holders. The rankings considered visa policies, mobile internet speeds, internet costs, utility bills, rent, and healthcare.


Taipei, July 7 (CNA) The total output value of Taiwan's non-alcoholic beverage industry grew for a 10th consecutive year in 2024 and surpassed NT$60 billion (US$2.07 billion) for the first time, the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) reported Monday. The sector's output value hit a record high of NT$61 billion last year, up 3.9 percent from a year earlier, and continued a decade-long upward trend, according to a report on the industry by the MOEA, one of a series the agency produces occasionally on different sectors.


Taipei, July 12 (CNA) The aggregate sales generated by companies listed on the local main board rose by more than 7 percent from a year earlier in June, led by the tech sector enjoying a boom in global artificial intelligence development, according to the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE). Data compiled by the TWSE, which runs the main board, showed the combined revenue posted by the listed companies totaled NT$3.66 trillion (US$125 billion) in June, up 7.37 percent from a year earlier, with 519 firms reporting year-on-year sales growth and 526 suffering a decline.


Taipei, July 13 (CNA) Iconic Taiwanese idol boy group F4 reunited on stage Saturday night during the finale of Taiwanese pop-rock band Mayday's concert at Taipei Arena. The performance marked the first time since 2016 the members of F4 shared a public appearance together.
