Taipei, Sept. 8 (CNA) Louisa Coffee plans to apply next year to list its shares on the local over-the-counter (OTC) market, company chairman Huang Ming-hsien (黃銘賢) said Monday. At a news conference, Huang said Taiwan's largest coffee shop chain -- whose shares are currently traded on the local emerging market -- had initially planned to file its OTC listing application in June.


TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwanese companies are poised to benefit as OpenAI committed NT$9 trillion (US$300 billion) to purchase computing power from Oracle over the next five years. The agreement, first reported by the Wall Street Journal, ranks among the largest AI-related procurements in history. Oracle’s stock gained 35.95% on Wednesday, its biggest single-day gain since 1992, boosting its market value to roughly US$933 billion and making it the world’s 12th largest firm, according to CTEE, Business Today, and UDN Money.


TOKYO (Taiwan News) — The Japan–Taiwan Innovation Summit, now in its fourth year, opened on Aug. 25 at the Imperial Hotel, where more than 50 Taiwanese startups presented to Japanese investors and companies. Set in one of Japan’s top three traditional hotels founded by Eiichi Shibusawa, often called the “father of Japanese capitalism,” the event paired legacy with modern entrepreneurship.

Taipei, Sept. 12 (CNA) Taiwan's real regular wages and real total earnings grew in the first seven months of 2025 at the fastest pace in recent years, the Directorate General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics (DGBAS) said Friday. Data compiled by the DGBAS showed that average monthly regular wages (salary and fixed allowances) grew 2.98 percent year-over-year in the seven-month period to NT$47,651 (US$6,122), the fastest rate of growth since the first seven months of 2023.


Hanoi, Sept. 12 (CNA) Jacky Chen (陳峻永), who has cycled a total of around 70,000 kilometers in 89 countries since 2015, shared how his identity as a Taiwanese has shaped his journeys abroad. In an interview in Hanoi, Vietnam on Sept. 4, Chen told CNA that although he cannot represent Taiwan, his goal for his trip has always been "to introduce Taiwan to the world."
