TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan’s three leading container carriers are teaming up to launch a direct North China–Indonesia route starting Oct. 31. Evergreen Marine, Wan Hai Lines, and Yang Ming Marine announced the new route Tuesday, citing rising China–Southeast Asia trade and demand from emerging markets, per CNA.
〔Taiwan News〕New Taipei to seek international business for Linkou
TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Mayor Hou Yu-ih (侯友宜) said the city government will continue efforts to attract more international companies to set up operations near the Taoyuan Airport MRT Linkou Station, aiming to boost local development and create jobs. Hou added that New Taipei has a well-developed industry chain, with more than 200 AI-related companies operating there. He said the city offers key advantages for development, including a strong supply chain, convenient transportation, and abundant land resources.
Taipei, Oct. 1 (CNA) SinoPac Financial Holding Co. completed its acquisition of King's Town Bank on Wednesday, taking ownership of the third largest number of banking outlets in Taiwan, according to the financial holding firm. King's Town Bank was delisted from the local main board on the same day, SinoPac Financial said. The company added that Bank SinoPac will fully merge with King's Town Bank within one year, boosting its number of outlets to 191, the third largest number in the country, up from the current No. 12.

São Paulo is not typically thought of as a hotspot for Taiwanese restaurants and Boba tea shops, much less places that attract long lines of patrons. Yet there are Taiwanese eateries such as Mapu (媽圃), owned by the Lin (林) family, that have become deeply rooted in the industrial city and attract throngs of visitors. Established in 1979, Mapu first served ethnic Hakka dishes prepared by first-generation expat and founder Mrs. Lin because she was homesick.
